Frequently Asked Questions

General Questions

Accu-Chek meters use low-energy Bluetooth technology, an advance in wireless communication that is ideal for situations in which the wireless signal only has to travel a short distance. Created for devices that need to run off a tiny battery for long periods, Bluetooth technology is used in activity trackers, heart rate monitors, sound amplifiers that act as an alternative to hearing aids and more.

Absolutely. The Accu-Chek Connect system uses data encryption to keep all your information secure. What's more, you decide what information to share with others, such as your healthcare team.

Pairing fails during the first attempt:

1) Power the devices off and back on.

2) Make sure the your Accu-Chek Guide meter and your mobile device are in close enough proximity (within 1 meter/ 3 feet) to one another.

3) Make sure Bluetooth is turned on.

4) Get away from interferers. If a Bluetooth device was previously paired with something else, turn off that other gadget. Get away from Wi-Fi router and USN 3.0 port. Flight mode must be turned off.

5) Restart the pairing process again.

If the App is already paired with an Accu-Chek Guide meter before, the “No meters found” message may appear when attempting to pair:

1) Delete previous pairing from your mobile device. In iOS settings, you can remove a device by tapping on its name and then Forget this Device. In Android settings, tap on a device’s name, then Unpair.

2) Delete previous pairing from your Accu-Chek Guide meter. From the meter’s Main Menu, select Settings > Wireless > Pairing > Delete Pairing.

3) Restart the pairing process again.

Note:

  • Deleting a device pairing on the meter does not delete the pairing on the mobile device running the app.
  • The App and Accu-Chek Guide meter can be paired with up to 5 devices at a time. The device on which the app resides may have a different limit on the allowed number of pairings. If the maximum number of devices has been paired, a pairing must be deleted before an additional device can be paired.
